Winning Thunder Style

After two tough losses last week the Thunder bounced back with a dominating performance vs St. George by beating them 7-0. The Caledonia Atom AE team lead by Captain Crunch, Carter Rock played a physical, well executed game that made all who watched, excited about the real potential of this team. Cody French (1G) opened the scoring with a goal from Bock Brownell (1A) and Kyle Hodge (2A). Coach Mike Roloson juggled the lines and the changes lead to the combo of Spencer Stewart (2A), Craig Stefureak (2G) and Carter Rock (2A) who set the tone with three big hits on the first shift. Riley Gray had a strong offensive showing with 2 goals and 1 assists while his line mates Tyler Zatylny (1G, 1A) and Sam Bleakney (2A) made for another strong combo. The Caledonia defense normally known for strong "D" got into the offensive action lead by Kyle Barton's beautiful end to end rush that resulted in a goal. Joshua Roloson earned another shut out with limited shots reaching. The coaching staff of Mike Roloson, Don Peart, Barry Stefureak and Brad Gray all agreed that this was an excellent example of team play and a very positive step in learning how to win. St. George has a few days to regroup before the two teams meet again and I am sure they will be better next game.
